A message from Moot:
No recording project ever happens without the collaboration and cooperation of many talented musicians and music professionals. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank those involved.
If there is a hero in this story, it is my business partner, executive producer, co-label (Highway Kind Records) owner and friend Paul W. Reed. This entire project would not have been possible without his vision and guts. Paul, you made this album happen and I will never forget it. Thank you and I hope I make you proud.
Once I got back to New Jersey in 2010, I asked my buddy Bill Corvino to put together a lab band of sorts with local guys to collaborate and bounce ideas off of. Laughing as much as playing helped with the magic making.
Bill Corvino – Guitar
Joe Mekler – Drums, Percussion and Vocals
Michael “Mad Dog” Massimino – Upright and Electric Bass
I’d also like to thank Kenny Vaughan for producing the CD. Many times keeping musicians on task is a little like herding cats and his guidance and leadership was very appreciated. In addition to his production duties, Kenny also appears on many tracks from the new CD along with his mates from Marty Stuart’s band the Fabulous Superlatives.
Kenny Vaughan – Guitars
Chris Scruggs – Pedal and Lap Steel
Hank Singer – Fiddle
Paul Martin – Bass
Harry Stinson – Drums
A huge thank you goes out to Elizabeth Cook, veteran of the Grand Ole Opry and host of the “Apron Strings” show on Sirius-XM’s Outlaw Country channel. Elizabeth provided standout vocals on the duet “Crazy In Love With You”.
I’m really very proud of the look that was achieved on the final CD. All of the photos were taken by David McClister in downtown Nashville in the Summer of 2011. Great pictures only tell half the story though, the artwork and design of the CD was performed by Cristina Speligene of Fearless Design, Inc.
